from the Greek word “argyros” − meanning “sparkling white” or “light white ».
Silver is by importance the 68th constitutive element of Earth’s crust.
On account of its magnificent brilliance, Alchemists of the Middle Ages devoted
Silver to the goddess of the moon (Luna). The very first symbol for this metal
was therefore a half-moon.
